Udhar without the register
Credit sales (Qarza, or udhar) are where many pumps lose track of money. The khata lives in a register, recoveries (Wasuli) are chased from memory, and a disputed balance means turning pages. PumpOS keeps the same khata in one place.
- Record a credit sale against a party, with the vehicle number
- Record each Wasuli as cash, bank or transfer
- See one running balance per party at any time
- Open the party ledger to settle a disagreement with dates and amounts
- Run the party balances report to see who owes what
How a party balance builds
| Date | Entry | Vehicle | Amount (Rs) | Balance (Rs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 02 Mar | Qarza, HSD 180 litres | LEA-1234 | 50,940 | 50,940 |
| 05 Mar | Qarza, HSD 120 litres | LEB-5678 | 33,960 | 84,900 |
| 09 Mar | Wasuli, bank | -60,000 | 24,900 |
Credit sales also flow into the daily book: Qarza is one part of the collection split, so a credit sale that was never recorded shows up as a difference at close. For ideas on running a credit book, read managing credit customers at a petrol pump.
Bring your khata. We will enter it for you.
During setup we add your parties and their current balances as opening balances.
Frequently asked questions
Can I record vehicle numbers with Qarza?
Yes. Credit sales are recorded against a party and a vehicle number.
How do I record Wasuli?
Enter the recovery against the party as cash, bank or transfer. The balance reduces straight away.
Can I see all balances in one report?
Yes. The party balances report lists every party's balance, and the party ledger shows the entries behind one party. Both download as PDF or Excel.
Does PumpOS enforce credit limits?
No. It records Qarza and Wasuli and shows balances. Limits and follow-up remain your decision.
