What the daily sales report shows

Many pumps still write the day on a register page or an Excel sheet (the daily hisab kitab). The figures depend on someone adding up the columns correctly. In PumpOS the sales come from the nozzle meters, and everything else on the report follows from them.

  • Litres sold and amount for every nozzle, grouped by fuel (HSD and PMG)
  • Test litres taken out of sales, not left inside them
  • The collection split: cash, card or bank, and Qarza (credit sales)
  • The difference between sales and money accounted for, so a gap is visible the same day
  • Download as PDF or Excel for your accountant

From meters to money

Litres sold per nozzle

Litres sold = closing meter - opening meter - test litres

Amount = litres sold x rate. Meter rollover is handled for you.

In this sample the two nozzles sold Rs 380,171 together (HSD at Rs 283 and PMG at Rs 275 per litre). If the cash, card and Qarza you counted add up to a different figure, the report shows the difference instead of hiding it.

Open, close and lock the day

  1. Open the day. Opening meters and stock carry over from yesterday.
  2. Enter closing meters, dips, Qarza, Wasuli, Kharcha and bank entries as the day goes.
  3. Close the day when the report balances.
  4. Lock it. A locked day cannot be edited. An authorised user can reopen it, and a reason is required and recorded.

Starting from today, not from zero

You do not need to retype old registers. We enter the previous day's meters, tank stock, party balances and cash and bank balances as opening balances during setup, so your first report is already correct.
