This is an estimate from the numbers you enter. It does not measure your pump, and PumpOS does not stop losses by itself. It shows where they happen, tank by tank and day by day, so you can act.

How the calculation works

Monthly cost of losses

(litres sold x loss% + shortage litres) x purchase price + unrecovered credit

Yearly cost is the monthly figure x 12.

Lost fuel is valued at what you paid for it, because you paid the supplier and never sold it. The last line shows how many litres you must sell, at your margin, to earn the loss back.

Frequently asked questions

How is the cost of fuel loss calculated?

Litres lost (litres sold x loss %) plus short-delivery litres are valued at your purchase price. Unrecovered credit is added in rupees. The total is shown per month and per year.

What loss percentage should I enter?

Use your own figure: add up the negative dip variances for a month and divide by the litres sold. If you do not track it yet, try 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3% and see the difference.

Is my data saved or sent anywhere?
